Turning back the hands of time, can it be done? The answer is yes, but it requires a ton of hard work, a plan of action, a goal, and of course drive and determination. Having just returned to active competition, November 9, 2013 for +Right Coast Pro Wrestling in Newark Delaware, after a several year layoff in which I spent addressing several injury concerns I proved that indeed Father Time can be coaxed. I also proved that the Renegade Training DMC, and RED2 programs are far more effective and powerful than I initially perceived.
While, in all honesty, returning to the ring was not my idea, I found being thrown into the heat of completion with athletes half my age well worth my time and effort. Not only did I have an immense amount of fun overcoming the challenges set before me, it also showed that I can still compete at a high level.
Though I was victorious in my match
with Nicholas Sohlo and Sebastian Night, Nicholas Sohlo really should have won
the match. He held victory in his grasp but made a grave mental error upon
which I capitalized, thanks to years of experience.
However, never one for self-gratification
or promotion, the greatest asset coming out of the match was the identification of weak
points in the kinetic chain of my body. These
weak points, hip strength, flexibility, thoracic stabilization, among a couple
of others could only be discovered through active completion and real world
situations. Those that train to train, sit vicariously behind a computer, or
fail to “play” in the outside world will be forever ignorant of such weak
points and in the end keep them on the negative side of victory.
Will I compete inside the wrestling
ring again? Of course, however I am going to take time to correct the issues
mentioned above first, and return even better than before. It is just a matter
of work and work is the one advantage I have above everyone else. I can’t or
will not be out worked, nor will I allow Father Time to keep me down for the
three count.
Be sure to check out http://www.rightcoastpro.com and http://www.RenegadeTraining.com for the DMC and RED2 programs which I consider mandatory for ALL athletes.
