The reason there is a +Right Coast Pro Wrestling and +DMC Delaware is simple, to make a difference. As the years have gone by, we as a society, have shifted our values and ways of thinking. Gone is the passion, gone is the honor, gone is courage, mental strength, useful knowledge, loyalty, skill, faith, intelligence, dedication, and of course just plain common sense. This is clearly transmitted by our so called "role-models" of today.
You can make a difference, though it is of course an uphill battle which will likely get a lot worse before it gets better. A start would be supporting those sports and teams at the grass route level and not “buying” in to the filth and greed that has overtaken sports.
Here is a great note/quote I came across from one of the leaders in the exercise industry, Coach John Davies of +Renegade Training™ International.
"I warrant the events surrounding a certain sports team owner are quite controversial but the root of the ‘revelation’, albeit he has a long history of unsavory habits, the response by athletes and the decision by regulatory bodies screams hypocrisy and slippery slope.
Though I have been stating professional sports is a putrid mess for over ten years in the media, I basically ‘walked away’ from many sectors in 1996 and have refused to return. The reason is simple, as I refuse to involve my life with such putrid messes and effectively ‘put the rubbish out’.
I have ‘seen it all’ and although I will not provide the foul details, allow me to say that the professional sporting world is a foul cauldron in many directions and beyond the worst imagination. The reason for this is ultimately, as you may have guessed, is ‘simple’
We collectively support this pus.
We take food off our tables to buy products with sports team logos.
We desecrate the blessing of the family dinner table to watch a children’s game played by men.
We ignore libraries to watch men who never knew the interior of a library to play a child’s game.
We complain for failing economies yet allow academic institutions to lower standards to field a ‘better team’, hence creating a generation with misguided values and questionable degrees.
We compensate and give athletes greater respect than educators.
We compensate and give athletes greater respect than educators.
We compensate and give athletes greater respect than educators.
Repeat the above as often as you so choose and until you understand the idiocy.
Approaching twenty years ago I was running sprints with an athlete in a stadium as a modest crowd of eager onlookers watched our every move. He is very well known, many of you would be ‘gushing’ like school boys if I mentioned his name, but as so often the case he was in need o a morsel of ‘reality’ from me and being the type of SOB that I am, I welcomed the opportunity to provide such. I introduced him to the onlookers, asked each of their profession knowing most were in the medical profession. I then made him aware that every doctor, nurse, pediatrician and cardiologist present accomplish more for humanity each hour of each day than the entire career of an athlete, hence your ‘reality check’.
Playing a sport well doesn’t make you a better person and it is time for the public to look in the mirror.
To find the guilty party in this entire situation all you need to do is look in the mirror. We did it.
Turn the television off, stop the 'worship' of professional sports and embrace your community .
We can be a better people."
Have a great weekend everyone, turn off the television, pick up a ball and go play.
